Mill Basin Promenade — Sustainable Waterfront & Marina Concept
The Mill Basin Promenade project reimagines the modern marina as an integrated ecosystem that unites leisure, technology, and sustainability. Designed as a multifunctional waterfront hub, it combines yacht docking, winter storage, marine services, and electric vehicle infrastructure within a cohesive architectural vision. The result is a waterfront that serves boat owners, visitors, and the local community alike — offering an elegant blend of engineering precision and human comfort.
The promenade’s layout is organized along a linear axis that transitions seamlessly from the water to land. At the shoreline, the main marina accommodates a diverse fleet of vessels — from luxury yachts to small boats and jet skis — arranged in an optimized mooring configuration for both efficiency and aesthetics. Floating docks, wide access platforms, and safe pedestrian connections define a calm and structured marine environment.
Above the marina, the promenade becomes a lively pedestrian corridor. Lined with trees, benches, and sculpted planters, it offers shaded rest areas and visual rhythm along the waterfront. Materials such as natural wood, concrete, and steel are balanced to create warmth and durability, reflecting a contemporary yet timeless character. The carefully designed lighting and landscaping emphasize the geometry of the retaining walls and enhance the evening atmosphere.
The upper platform integrates modern mobility and hospitality features. A fully equipped EV Charging Stationaccommodates six electric vehicles, with solar canopies providing energy and shade. Its minimalist steel and wood structure reflects the project’s sustainability goals. Adjacent to it, a Coffee House Pavilion extends the promenade’s public function, offering indoor and rooftop seating with panoramic views of the marina. Surrounded by greenery, this pavilion serves as both a gathering space and a visual anchor for the upper terrace.
To the east, the Winter Storage Zone features a multi-level rack system for secure yacht storage, complemented by a Boat Lifting Service with a professional travel lift for vessel maintenance and transfer. A Marine Supply Center nearby provides essential technical support for year-round operation.
Together, these elements form a harmonious system — where marine infrastructure, urban design, and sustainable technologies coexist. The Mill Basin Promenade embodies the future of coastal development: functional, elegant, and environmentally conscious — a place where innovation meets the tranquility of the water.
